What is actually here

The farm is the product

Winter grass shoulder-high along a farm track, thorn trees on the horizon and the moon already up

Drive it yourself

Thirty kilometres of internal roads and no set game-drive time. You get the gate code at check-in and you go when you like — before breakfast, at dusk, or not at all.

There is a giraffe breeding herd, plus zebra, nyala, waterbuck, bushbuck, impala and ostrich. There are no lion, leopard, elephant, rhino or buffalo, and we are not going to imply otherwise.

Reeds in the foreground of a farm dam at dusk, the last of the sunset showing orange along the treeline

Two dams, and a hide

Kiewiet’s Dam and Kingfisher Dam are both on the farm, and there is a purpose-built bird hide at Kingfisher. Bring your own rods, and ask Theo about the fishing rules — they are his to set. Some of the Zebra Log Cabins stand right on the water.

Nylsvley Nature Reserve is about 22 km away, about 30–40 minutes by road — a good day trip if you are serious about birds. It is up the road from us, not on the farm.

The swimming pool, cropped wide, with garden benches, thorn trees and loungers along the far edge

A pool, a lapa and a fire

The pool is in the camp garden under old shade trees, which in a Limpopo January is not a nice extra — it is the reason the children are happy.

Every unit has its own braai. The Kudu Lapa is the shared one and it is under thatch, so if it rains, everybody still eats together.

Where you sleep

Five kinds of unit, plus camping

13 self-catering units and 8 powered campsites, sleeping 67 in total. Every unit has its own braai.

These are the rates we are proposing for the coming season. They have not been finalised, and the rate you are quoted when you book is the rate that counts. Check live availability on the rates and booking page, or phone Theo and he will confirm.

Before you come

The drive, said honestly

It is roughly two and a half hours up the N1 from Johannesburg or Pretoria to Mookgopong. The last stretch to our gate is gravel, and it is not a smooth gravel road. A normal car gets here in dry weather, taken slowly.

We would rather you knew that now than found it out in the dark with a boot full of meat.
