Getting here

We are going to be straight with you about the road, because somebody once was not, and they were right to complain about it.

The last stretch is gravel, and it is not a short one

The last stretch is gravel and it is not a smooth gravel road. A normal car gets there in dry weather, taken slowly. After heavy rain, phone first.

Different sources have given the distance from town to our gate as anything between about 8 km and 34 km, and we are not going to publish a number we have not measured ourselves. What we can tell you plainly is this: it is further and rougher than a tarred farm road, roughly 4 km of it is poor, and it takes longer than the map says.

Phone Theo on +27 60 441 2464 before you set off and he will tell you exactly what the road is doing this week, and exactly how far it is from the turnoff.
